You are considering a vintage Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor Barreled Receiver — It’s chambered for 45-70 Government ammunition. It’s in good shape with light wear from usage, storage, and handling. The barrels metalwork is in good condition and features a nice brown rust patina. The barrel measures 32.5-inches in length and includes its original rear ladder sight and front post (but it’s missing its blade) — it has not been modified outside of its original form. The bore is dark and pitted with very weak rifling — it would need a relining to shoot properly. The breech is complete and functions as it should.
